AudioControl, recently purchased by AAMP Global, will add to its all-weather product line with four amplifiers, three of which double the power of the brand’s original ACX amplifiers.
The IPX6-rated, water-resistant amplifiers can be hosed off or pressure washed, said the company. They are compact and deliver 600 watt power output versus the prior models’ 300 watt ratings.
Amplifiers, a category which AudioControl entered in 12 volt about five years ago, now represent about a third of its business, said President of AudioControl and Executive VP of Audio at AAMP Global, Alex Camara.
AudioControl was purchased in April by AAMP Global. In the future, it expects to combine AAMP technology in its AudioControl products. “There’s a lot of products on the roadmap that use AAMP technology. That’s an opportunity for AudioControl to double the number of product opportunities ahead,” Camara said.
The new ACX models include the ACX-600.6 six channel amplifier, which is 2-ohm stable, with active speaker level inputs, GTO signal sensing and 12dB/Octave Linkwitz-Riley crossovers. It is joined by the ACX-600.1 mono amplifier with AccuBASS, and ACX-650.5 five channel amplifier.
A fourth amplifier, the ACX-300.2, offers 150 watts x 2.
Pricing and shipping on the new ACX amplifiers are as follows:
ACX-600.1 $479.99 MAP, $529.00 MSRP; Ships late September/early October.
ACX-600.6 $559.00 MAP, $599.00 MSRP; Ships by the end of October.
