KICKER is starting to ship a refresh of its top of the line round subwoofers, the CompQ series.
The new line represents the first CompQ refresh in many years and offers more power and new cosmetics.
The CompQ Series includes 10-inch, 12-inch, and 15-inch models available at 2 Ohms or 4 Ohms. Recommended amplifier power for the line is 400 to 800 watts RMS for the 10-inch model, 500 to 1,000 watts for the 12-inch woofer and 600 to 1,200 watts for the 15-inch CompQ. Retail prices are $279.99, $329.99, and $429.99, respectively.
KICKER says the CompQ subwoofers are built for audiophile sound quality as well as high SPL. They offer the company’s Forced-Air Cooling and The SoloKon cone system, which includes a ribbed surround for high excursion while maintaining linear motion. They use aluminum-alloy baskets and oversized magnets. The subwoofers perform well in all types of enclosures, and handle “massive amounts of power … in a vented box,” said KICKER.
