Kicker officially announced the retirement of its long time Director of Global Marketing, Kevin Campbell this week.
Campbell has been a leader in car audio, with 18 years at Kicker preceded by posts at Rockford Fosgate, Precision Power, TubeDriver and Morel America prior to joining Kicker.
He will be replaced by Kicker Associate Marketing Directors Ron Burnett and Roger Demaree who become Co-Directors, splitting Campbell’s duties. Burnett was formerly Associate Director – Marketing Communications and Demaree was Assoc. Director of Brand & Sports Marketing. Burnett has 28 years’ experience in the industry and Demaree has 20 years’ experience at Kicker.
The promotions follow other management changes at Stillwater Designs (Kicker parent company). Earlier this year, Bart Deal was promoted to the post of Vice President of Product Strategy and OEM. His appointment followed the passing of Kicker VP and Director of Business Development, Rob Limbaugh.
Campbell said that working at Kicker felt like family. “People talk about Kicker being family; it really has that feel. The kind of place where we all have to work hard, but there’s an atmosphere – a social feeling that is genuine and caring that comes from the top.”
One of Campbell’s marketing strategies was connecting with live music. He aligned Kicker with artists such as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Tim Montana and Nashville label Reviver Music. And Kicker sponsored events such as the Kicker Country Stampede music festival.
“Since he came on board, we’ve evolved into a more focused marketing machine,” said Kicker Founder Steve Irby. “He had strong opinions and experience in the industry that go way back. He was fair and easy to work with, with a quick wit and an unmatched sense of humor. We will really miss his wisdom and experience.”
